Pele

Pele is the embodiment of Brazilian football- playing the game to a samba beat, with spellbinding flair and creativity. His autobiography used the phrase, The Beautiful Game, an there can be no more fitting description of his own ability. Pele played as an inside forward, striker and playmaker with visionary passing, snake like dribbling, and an almost supernatural goal scoring ability. Scoring over thousands of goals, he also holds the record for being the youngest player to have won the world cup three times. After collecting his third winner's medal, the headline in the English newspaper, The Times, read: "How do you spell Pele? G-O-D." After Pele's amazing career, Pele devoted much of his life towards charity, especially those through UNICEF. He is still an influential presence on football's global stage and is revered around the world not just for his skills but also his passion for the "Beautiful Game", sportsmanship, and humility.
